With tongue in cheek, Sam Raimi moves the horror genre ahead, where it comes to style and trend. One part impressive low-budget cult, one part ... just not so spooky ... but kind of funny. Overall, more fun - and smarter - than the average teen genre flick.
So, for the sub-genre, I give it a 3, but overall, a 2. Bruce Campbell shows signs of cult star in the making, too.
