Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Bill B — 26 Mar 2017
Just re-watched this one recently and I'm very impressed with how well it holds up, especially since I tend to remember more detail about the sequels than this first installment. I would also venture to guess that this is a blasphemous statement, but I honestly think I like the first film better than the second, as it feels more like a 'straight' horror film, eschewing the excess of the sequels for the most part, aside from some stop motion towards the final reel.
Still, a great series of films, and iconic within the genre.
