Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Tio B — 06 May 2013
Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead is still to this day one of the most prolific horror films of all time in terms of inspiring future works. The acting is definitely not top notch; however, that can easily be overlooked once the revolutionary make-up and effects start to pick up.
Ridiculous? Maybe. Over-the-top? Absolutely. Bottom line, though it certainly has it's fair share of flaws, this innovative movie transcends the low-budget set on which it's filmed. The Evil Dead is one of the few true gems left in the much overplayed horror-genre.
