Review of The Equalizer (2014) by Jon W — 12 Apr 2016
Thin plodding plot that moves from one action sequence to another at a snail's pace. Denzel Washington seemingly cast because, like Edward Woodward in the 80s TV show, he's also old and out of shape - although I don't recall Woodward working in a hardware store and making elaborate booby traps when picking up a gun would be far simpler.
If you want to spend two hours watching a revenge thriller with Russian mafia (and avoid Marton Csokas's weird accent), then look towards Keanu Reeves' John Wick (or just watch Edward Woodward!).
