The Equalizer is in the "noir" genre of film so don't go in expecting a huge shoot 'em up. That being said it was extremely well done and pretty violent while presenting interesting moral questions.
Denzel does a great job as usual and I think the overarching story is pretty cool. I also think the movie does a good job of drawing you in to actually care about some of the lesser characters.
