Review of The Equalizer (2014) by Olli H — 03 Apr 2015
Bob McCall (Denzel Washington) is a quiet old man, working in a hardware store, helping his friends and reading books at night at local diner. But when his new friend Teri (Chloe Grace Moritz) is beaten badly, his former self start to awaken...
There's a lot of vigilante movies, where the hero is unstoppable and kills hundreds and thousands of bad guys, saves the day and they lived happily ever after and so on. "The Equalizer" is based on a TV series of the same name and while it has the vigilante mode full on, there still something more to it that differs it from the masses. Overall, it was yet another kick-ass Denzel Washington movie, with nice action scenes (those final Brutal moments especially), nicely multi-layered story and the whole good guy vs bad guy, in here Washington vs Marton Csokas, was made so well that it was actually really exciting to see them finally clash.
