Review of The Equalizer 2 (2018) by Dj I — 22 Jul 2018

If any Hollywood mogul is reading this I have one bit of advice: If the Writers ever go out on strike again.....just wave good bye and let them. Eighty to ninety percent of movies these days are consistently falling short of their potential because of lazy, unimaginative, redundant, and thus predictable story lines.

This film, despite the star power of Denzel, good characters, along with exciting action and a litany of other positive attributes, never takes off because it descends into different faces doing the same thing for the same reasons.

Its like the writing is following a set recipe like paint by numbers. The lack of creative thinking is alarming. As the story unfolded and the adversarial lines began to take shape, I said to myself "They're not gonna go there.

Its too simple. Too obvious. Too over done. Too insulting. No way." But they did. Its sad. Another great character, concept, and franchise stunted by inferior writing and the inability to think outside of the box.

Take a number EQ2. Otherwise, you're a solid three stars in every other facet.
