Review of The English Patient (1996) by Zeb L — 28 Dec 2010
I was fully prepared to be see this as highly overrated or at least be bored to tears in parts. this, being one of the most gracious films of the nineties, was interesting from its first frames until long after the credits finished rolling.
lusciously photographed, tenderly adapted from the pages of michael ondaatjes novel, passionately acted, and grand on the scale of the golden age of hollywood. there is very little to say beyond what is wholly positive about this film.
bravo, minghella. I did not realize till now how much the world misses you.
