Review of The English Patient (1996) by Monsieur R — 14 Sep 2010
After one hour of this near 3 hour tale, I dropped my remote in pure boredom. Although it is strongly advised by many to stay the course, I couldn't ride this slow paced tale of agony any further than I did.
Constantly moving in flashback from post WWII Italy to some pre war archeology digs in the desert, I began to feel like the English Patient himself, suffering through this Oscar winning Best Picture with 9 Academy Awards.
While I can appreciate a love story drama, this one starts slow and never got into gear with me.
