Review of The English Patient (1996) by Tuuli A — 26 Jan 2009
All in all beautiful, carefully done, wonderful cast (Ralph Fiennes is good as always) and, most of all, visually gorgeus. Love stories, ah. But I didn't really find in touching or unbeliavablely romantic; a little bit too melodramatic and calculated taste lingers.
It tries so hard to be a wonderful epic that it fails to be one. Anyways, great movie. Though all I thought about was Colin Firth and how this was filmed only one year after the Pride and Prejudice...
