Review of The English Patient (1996) by Nat G — 27 Nov 2009
This is one of those films that I find too long and boring, but the second time round I started to understand what was going on and enjoyed it a lot more. The acting was very good, although I did find the burns victim, Count Almasy, annoying, he seems to me to be a creepy character.
The plot is good but you do need to concentrate, I found the back story a lot more interesting, as a guy lying in bed is a little dull. The real star of this film is the scenery, although it's in the desert it looks very lush and beautiful.
The main problem with the film is the length, if you haven't fallen asleep, you will get something out of this film, but to be honest it's hard making time to sit down and watch it.
