Not totally without any redeeming value, for example the acting is top notch. But I didn't care about the story, thought Ralph Fiennes was kind of a butthead, thus didn't care at all about his relationship with Kristin Scott Thomas.
Tragic and romantic? More like emotionally-retarded children screwing around.
