Review of The English Patient (1996) by Erika B — 03 Feb 2010
Before watching the movie, I thought it was going to be adapted like any other books - take out some characters, and take out necessary scences to be replaced with more dramatic, hollywood-type ones. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was almost exactly as the book. The script was perfect, and I love how they didn't take out the beautiful, poetic lines that the characters in the novel say.
Great cast, great story, great acting. At the end of the movie, you feel the hope and peace that the characters themselves attain. One of the best films I've ever seen.
