Review of The Enforcer (1976) by Brad G — 09 Nov 2009
My big problem with this Dirty Harry outing are the hippie perps, The Peopleâ??s Revolutionary Strike Force. They just ainâ??t scary, theyâ??re lame. The PCing of the franchise that started in Magnum Force continues as Harry gets a lady partner.
Something-to-prove Tyne Daly is decent, but I wish John Mitchumâ??s fatso inspector stuck around for more of the film. The Alcatraz climax is definitely exciting and I dig all that stuff with the LAWS rockets.
And Eastwood gets some cool sneering moments, but heâ??s not as rough and tough as the previous films. At this point in the series you really start to miss the wound stomping cop from the first flick.
Not the worst Dirty Harry but still not that great. VF.
