Review of The Enemy Below (1957) by Gail R — 26 May 2008
It is so refreshing to see a movie that treats the tension soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen experience while serving in a war environment seriously, and with reality. This movie answers that mail.
The story is compelling and reasoned and powerful. So many great lines, memorable scenes are contained herein. Curd Jurgens and Robert Mitchum are great, though I don't mean to minimize the contribution of the supporting cast. This movie is a well crafted, well directed amalgam of charismatic characters.
Well done! Must see -.
