Review of The Endless (2017) by Szymon D — 22 Jul 2018
The movie starts good. 2 brothers who got out of a cult-like group when they were young, decide to go and visit them once more to get closure.
I liked the character development. The relationship between the brothers is the force that keeps this movie going. The "cult" people are somewhat interesting, too.
The problem with the movie is that, once we get the lay of the land, and weird stuff starts to happen, it stagnates. It just keeps getting weirder, but the story doesn't move forward, until the end, where we get a 2 minute conclusion.
Also, something that I found weird, the friends that the big brother meets, say to each other to not start the loop as they always do. That just doesn't make sense. If you remember that you are in a loop every time,, why would you start it the same?
