Review of The End of the Tour (2015) by Brandon W — 13 Dec 2015
When coming across the trailer for The End of the Tour, I have no idea about who David Foster Wallace is, nor David Lipsky, but I was very curious on watching it. I'm glad that I watched however because The End of the Tour is a fantastic film.
Jesse Eisenberg is really good and doesn't quite sound like his usual self which is pretty interesting. Jason Segel is amazing on the looks and the voice he gives out that at times I keep forgetting to that it was even Jason Segel in the first place.
The chemistry between the two main leads is great as they have a lot of interesting conversations, especially from David Foster Wallace. I'm glad that they don't make David Lipsky a person that is just doing an interview for a job and doesn't have to be nice, it shows that interviewers can be very friendly and actually have a bond with them, while not fully realizing that they have a job to do.
You get to learn a lot about both David Lipsky and David Foster Wallace, and would like to hear more of the philosophy that David Foster Wallace is talking about. It's really nice to see James Ponsoldt do different projects, and I would definitely like to see his next film after watching films like The End of the Tour and The Spectacular Now.
