Review of The Encounter (2011) by Bob S — 29 Aug 2013
As a whole, Christian themed movies as a genre seem to be improving. I think they are realizing that having an impact doesn't require beating the audience over the head, some subtlety can be effective, so can giving viewers credit for some intelligence.
The Encounter is a good (but pointed) film in that vein. The cast does a good job with the material (and slightly stereotyped roles) and the dialogue, acting and production values are more than we've seen in past movies of this type.
Good, decently done, message film.
