Review of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) by Brendan F — 25 Dec 2015
It's very rare for a successful movie to have a sequel that surpasses it's proceeder. Empire Strikes Back happens to accomplish that task as the stakes are higher and the characterization gets more in depth.
You can tell that the characters are really comfortable in their role and it's really cool to see the tension amongst them. Everything in this movie is a step up from A New Hope as the action, visuals, and the story is a whole lot better.
Not to mention the introduction to many new characters, planets, and life lesson themes used throughout the movie. This movie also includes a fantastic score from John Williams. It's very fair to say that this is a nearly flawless film that brings everything a sequel needs to be successful.
