Review of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) by Dan I — 15 Sep 2015
What will always remain the best Star Wars film (barring a miracle from Abrams & Co.) the style and tone set by Kershner surpassed the noble-but-lackluster style of Lucas' first movie and the polished-but-overly-so style of Marquand's following movie.
Hits all the right notes and existed in the pre-merchandise nightmare of later Star Wars films which sacrificed storytelling for action figures.
