If "A New Hope" was groundbreaking due its blockbuster historical mark, special effects and its new approach in sci-fi movies then "The Empire Strikes Back" is the culmination of all those elements with its darker tone.
As a piece of art, it was able to bring fans and critics together experiencing a whole new level of fictional storytelling and at same time making it an experience of a lifetime.
