Review of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) by Mark S — 03 Jan 2016
"Empire" followed up on its predecessor by becoming a very different kind of movie in many ways; it's less Kurosawa and more steeped in Christ-imagery. If Episode IV was an underdog story, "Empire" was about the underdog receiving his comeuppance.
It's a nonstop, suspenseful game of cat and mouse as the villains pursue our heroes, but the transformations of our heroes and villains in the process make it worth the watch.
