Review of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) by Thyago A — 25 Apr 2016
The story is pretty terrible since the opening crawl. So, the Empire could find the new rebel base, which was much better hidden than the first one, by just sending probes to the entire galaxy? Why didn't they do it in Episode IV rather than destroying an entire planet because Leia would not cooperate? It would be rather easier.
Besides, Leia and Han's romance is terrible. They were never fit for each other and the writers just tried to hard to make it work. It didn't. Their dialogs are just awful. Obi-wan's ghost also makes the story feels so forced.
Moreover, Darth Vader had an entire Empire fleet and had to hire bounty hunters to search for Leia and Han? Couldn't he just use the probes again and find Yoda and Luke? This movie could just have ruined Star Wars story.
I'm glad Lucas was able to fix the saga after this.
