Review of The Empire Strikes Back (1980) by David O — 15 Dec 2017
Empire gives the perfect balance of drama and spectacle as we are transported to all new worlds, with new situations and inventive designs. This sequel builds perfectly on its predecessor as Darth Vader is giving the heightened menace to help him become the ultimate movie villain while Han and Leia are given new depth as they develop a endearing and lovable relationship.
New characters such as Frank Oz's Yoda give us great lessons and metaphors for life while also opening our imaginations once more. We are giving great humour from the bumbling C3PO and endearing R2D2 while also having new menace from the mysterious Boba Fett.
Empire perfectly heightens the stakes and builds on this fascinating galaxy.
