The Empire Strikes Back (also known as Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back) is a 1980 American epic space opera film directed by Irvin Kershner.
This film, the best in the Star Wars series, really has it all. So many memorable characters, one-liners, and scenes. I especially like the comical touches and romantic inter-play. The scenes featuring Yoda and Luke at the swamp with its spiritual dimension are superb. And of course Luke combats Darth Vader and finds out his true identity. My favourite film of 1980.
