Review of The Emperor's New Groove (2000) by Ria D — 16 Sep 2013
While funny, the lack of historical continuity (as the intention was obviously not historical accuracy) in The Emperor's New Groove is a huge, gaping insult to those who can differentiate between Central American cultures and the South American Incan empire.
Considering the general ignorance already faced by South Americans who are constantly mistaken for "mexicans", it couldn't possibly have cost Disney much to keep from adding unnecessary references to cultures that had absolutely nothing to do with the Incas.
Still, The Emperor's New Groove is funny and overall enjoyable, and recommendable overall, especially to those who don't know the difference between the cultures below the American border.
