Review of The Emperor's Club (2002) by Peter D — 17 Feb 2008
What holds the film together is the performance by Kline as a teacher who believes he is responsible not only for the education of his students but also for the shaping of their character. What lets it down is the film's two part structure.
The scenes in the past work far better than the scenes in the present and the last half of the film suffers in comparison with the first.
