Review of The Emperor Waltz (1948) by Ashley H — 05 Jun 2011
The Emperor Waltz is an underrated jewel of a film. It is about an American gramophone who tries to get Emperor Franz Joseph's endorsement in turn of the century Austria. The music is great and fits well in the film.
Bing Crosby and Joan Fontaine give excellent performances. The script is well written. Billy Wilder did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed this motion picture because of the romance. The Emperor Waltz is a must see.
