Kids and I enjoyed the movie. We were prepared to dislike it because of all the ridiculous reviews, but it's a good movie. Yes the emoticon is learning to believe in himself he is also being a great friend.

He doesn't leave people behind, he encourages others to try to do think when they think they can't. This is a wonderful movie for kids, it's silly for kids, it's a little sad sometimes but it is a great movie to help with confidence.

So Gene is extremely different, well this movie shows that's okay. This is honestly a great movie for kiddos whether it advertises emoji's or not. I'm not sure what's so awful about a kids movie sending all these great messages.
