The Emoji Movie seemed like its producers made it bad on purpose, filling it with humor that felt like it intentionally wanted to make the audience cringe. And they totally succeeded; mostly. Some of the humor was actually pretty funny, although the story and premise were still completely awful.

I'd say that The Emoji Movie should still probably be a skipper if you haven't seen it already, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
