Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Andrew P — 13 Feb 2012
Probably one of the most heart breaking films I have come across. Always gentle in respect to Merrick's personal demons and yet at the same time harrowing to think that such a gentle man had to live a life as a spectacle and something to gawk and poke at, whats more harrowing (as mentioned in the film) is knowing that this man was very intelligent and knew everything that went on around him.
Definetly not for the faint hearted.
