Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Nathan N — 12 Jul 2009
I love Hurt and Hopkins, but this film moved way to slow for my and the parts that got "David Lynchy" just made me roll my eyes. Ebert's comment says it best:
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times.
I kept asking myself what the film was really trying to say about the human condition as reflected by John Merrick, and I kept drawing blanks.
