Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Paul B — 17 Jul 2009
Lynch's second feature is a magnificent recounting of the later years of the life of John Merrick. A magnificent cast are beautifully directed through a very mainstream Lynchian movie albeit one with the dark touches & disturbing hallmarks that would litter his future work.
This is a powerful film about humanity & how greed or selfishness can often breed kindness as an afterthought.
