Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Farah G — 02 Dec 2009
Pretty much, Lynch's most perfect movie, this movie is so moving it almost makes you feel ill at certain points. By the end your heart is in your throat and you're choking back tears to the beautifully melancholy closing scene.
Stylistically it is similar to Eraserhead, although at the same time, completely different. Harsh, grainy urban landscape with nightmarish dream sequences and freakish make up. But a much more moving and less weird tale. Not to be missed.
