Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Ka M — 31 Dec 2009
Another film with not enough exposure. I don't think I've ever seen it televised and hunting down a DVD requires an internet search.
Wonderful cast and very well made film. Lynch's best movie, easily. This could only have been filmed in Black and White and I wish more films were - not likely with 3D set to take off.
I grew up not far from Whitechapel Hospital and I could have sworn this was done on location. John Hurt and Anne Bancroft take a bow, but they're not alone.
