Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Christian C — 24 Jan 2010
This movie was so incredible the acting was so powerful and moving! I love when John Merrick accurately constructs the majestic cathedral and when one of the nurses makes an inquisition about it he responds that he uses his imagination to unravel all of the cathedral even though he only sees the top tower.
This says so much and it was probably my favorite scene in the movie! I think this basically summarized everything Lynch wanted people to get out of this movie in one scene that what is visible is not what makes a person or a thing worth while, but it is the unseen that holds all the glory and beauty.
