Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Jacob F — 16 Apr 2011
I consider this to be David Lynch's most heartfelt motion picture. The film features a strong subject about a man deformed by a disease and the doctor who strives to help him gain respect and dignity.
John Hurt absolutely shines as John Merrick especially when wearing several layers of make-up. Therefore, I consider this a triumph from Lynch and one of the very best of 1980.
