Review of The Editor (2014) by Paul C — 04 May 2016
I usually do not care for most films shot in an overly "retro" style. Often, they overplay their hand and seem to forced. 2015's "The Editor" is a parody of Italian giallo films from the 70's and 80's - but it is so spot on that it avoids most of the pitfalls of retro films and is quite enjoyable.
The attention to detail is pretty amazing: the lighting, the acting, the music, the plot, and especially the audio quality (distinctive flat dubbing) all feel authentic while still managing to poke gently fun at the genre.
Well worth a look, especially if you are fan of giallo.
