Review of The Edge of Seventeen (2016) by Jeff K — 19 Nov 2016
The formula is so worn out at this point but Hailee Steinfeld gives such a powerhouse performance.
She's on the brink of being a young adult; an old soul, prefers the old-fashioned things, and nobody seems to give a damn about what she thinks.
She had a rough start as a kid having only one friend and losing her father, usually she'd be okay but most of the time she keeps to herself believing she's the only one with issues worth mentioning.
She has great unwanted advice from her brother, her teacher, and her mother though.
Love the supporting players of Kyra Sedgwick and Woody Harrelson.
Being 17 doesn't last forever, it only feels that way when there's so many rough patches.
Amazingly-acted and heavy.
