Review of The Edge of Seventeen (2016) by Imaginarily B — 22 Nov 2016
This movie is so light that it threatens to rip the screen off it's mounts and float it to the ceiling of the theatre. Lacking plot depth and an appealing lead, this movie fails to breath new life into the well told teen coming-of-age tale.
Frequent teen profanity and explicit sexual references only provide a rare snicker and do little to modernize the story line. A quirky yet steady performance by Woody Harelson as the favoured teacher and a refreshing take on the sensitive creative teen by Haydn Szeto make this movie watchable.
