Charming, yet harshly realistic, Edge of Seventeen is a fantastic coming of age story. It is quirky, smart and at times downright depressing. Hailee Steinfeld's brilliant portrayal of a struggling teenage girl represents many relatable life aspects.
The film goes deeper however, reflecting the struggles of family and sexual relationships during school. Given this, Edge of Seventeen is a film that a wide audience can connect with and is thoroughly engaging in this way.
