I'm really really confused why this movie has a 95% Tomato Critics Score. I saw this as a free movie given to Arclight Members earlier this week and I give it 2 stars because of the blandness of the story.

You don't really care about the characters, or how Hailee Steinfield is a loner and how she acts like a child when her best friend wants to date her brother and ends her friendship abruptly. She then struggles with trying to be friends with the Asian guy at school and those scenes were awkward.

Then she goes after the 'bad' boy at school and basically sexts him and throws herself at this guy she barely knows and he really thinks he's going to have sex with her and then she decides that she doesn't want to have sex and she wants to talk to this guy instead and try and build a relationship.

The whole movie was trying too hard to be like Juno or one of the other indie films and I just felt like this didn't live up to any kind of expectations I had. Yes there were some funny moments, but not to make up for the awkwardness in the whole entire movie.
