Review of The Edge of Seventeen (2016) by Jasmine Y — 24 Nov 2016
A fairly mundane 'coming of age' movie about teenage girls. But way elevated by stellar performances by the young actors and the supporting old folks. The movie moves with a smooth touch, very few down times.
I don't recall being so sophisticated about sex at this age (actually I'm still not) but I guys it is a fair depiction. Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick are both standouts in small but very important roles.
I liked this one a lot and recommend it, not my usual blood and guts movie so that says something.
