A coming of age movie or high school experience movie, whatever you want to call it. It's a well told story and probably relatable to a lot of people's high school experience (wanting to fit in, feeling awkward,.

lack of friends, flirting, parties, hookups, etc). Especially nowadays, as they brought social media.

references into it. Hailee does a great job with the lead and really makes you feel her emotions and has great chemistry with the cast. Her relationship with her brother(who starts out as this stereotypical cool kid, but then they peel back some layers and reveal a much deeper character. one that cares, and has to be an adult and the pressures he deals with as being the eldest in a single parent home), mom, teacher(played by Woody Harrelson, who lends a.

Great supporting role), Erwin and Nick are all great. Hailee makes got connections with all of these actors and the screen time and sorry give you just enough to make their payoff scenes believable, real and satisfying. I was sad.

To see the lack of relationship with her best friend. After she gets together with Nadine's brother the entire rest of the movie would have been just as effective without her in a single scene. There wasn't even a payoff with her at the end. The film choose to go another, equally satisfying route. Also, as is often the case these days, you lose quite a bit of the funnier moments to the movie trailers. Still a great movie about a teenager going thru high school and the ups and downs that go with it. There are moments of laughter, sick, anger, awkwardness, and disappointment that you ask get to experience through Nadine and the emotions and performance that Hailee delivers.
