Review of The Edge of Seventeen (2016) by Charlie D — 31 Aug 2017
Burrowing itself deep into the almost unclear yet clear reality of adolescence, it's funny and understandable. Facing many of the thought-to-be-impossible tasks of life that we all at one point expected the end of the world to be.
Harrelson's character really tickles the balls of that trope and easily one of the most warming characters of the film. Steinfeld plays the ailing character and seems to pull off the teenage thing with no scratches.
It's pretty funny how it feels so typical or familiar since it's so true and it's one of the only themes you can really do that without it being more of a bad thing.
