Review of The Edge of Love (2008) by Gillian C — 13 Jul 2008
I'm not entirely sure why I liked this so much, there's a lot that's not quite right with the thing, but I came out completely rejuvenated so it must have done something right. It's bitty and disjointed at times, but it seems to work, and it's very well-acted.
(I was particularly impressed with Rhys and Miller but everyone is great.) The direction and pacing is often kind of weird, which held my interest, and even though those ridiculously spoilerish trailers meant I knew what was coming, I was still engrossed.
Thematically very satisfying as well. Strange film, odd film, but it worked for me.
