Review of The Edge of Love (2008) by Meropi P — 16 Nov 2008
This film doesn't do Cillian Murphy's name much justice. It is a failed war romance and a failed biography. Having a confused director who's trying to be subtle can only result in clumsy plot development and no character development at all. It is bad overall, but not excruciatingly bad, as I was inclined to say 20 minutes in.
However, having to hear Keira Knightley whisper "come back" to her man gone to war is rather traumatizing. And I am firmly convinced she has a speech impediment. As for Sienna Miller, she's always good at portraying trashy debauched characters, not very different from herself.
