Review of The Edge of Love (2008) by Simon W — 21 Jul 2009
The first half of this movie is major dullsville, and I almost didn't make it through to the end. But the second half picks up and is very intriguing. There are moments of eye-catching visuals, but since this isn't that kind of movie, they are more distracting than anything.
Cillian Murphy and Keira Knightley are really likeable, and are great together, and you do root for them. Matthew Rhys is a great scumbag, but Sienna Miller is definitely the weak spot in this quartet.
She is supposed to be a victim, but she just isn't likeable enough to pull it off. The war scenes are well done, but there are only a few of them. This was a mediocre movie overall.
