Review of The Edge of Love (2008) by Joe D — 25 Jul 2009
The Edge of Love.
4/10.
Taking place during WWII, there were a 'few' times this lush, handsome 'looking' period piece entertained, BUT (and that's a big but) by the time the credits rolled on this flick the players involved all seemed to lose far too much luster. Meaning... I could care less for any of them. Slutty, dishonest and filled with people who continually make bad choice after bad choice... ugh, not one person to really like at all.
Also, the story simply fades into the sunset as it moves along. It's all a bit too odd, confusing and was just far too distant and thin for me to really enjoy. The twists and turns that come about just end up holding no water at all and/or not mattering all that much.
While pretty to look at, The Edge of Love is really nothing more than a pretty looking shell that's empty inside and carried no emotional impact what so ever.
