Review of The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013) by Kevin R — 26 Jan 2015
We're going to find out the truth.
A group of American college student head to the mountains of Russia to investigate an infamous mystery of some mountain climbers that died mysteriously. Their professor has challenged them to dig deeper than anyone has; unfortunately, digging too deep may be bad for their health. Will any Americans return home from this fantastic journey?
"My eye lids are frozen shut.".
Renny Harlin, director of Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Cutthroat Island, Deep Blue Sea, Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Dream Master, and Exorcist: The Beginning, delivers Devil's Pass. The storyline for this picture is interesting and unfolds well. The settings are well portrayed and action is fairly intense, but the ultimate resolve is a bit disappointing. The cast delivers solid performances for the genre and includes Holly Goss, Gemma Atkinson, Luke Albright, and Matt Stokoe.
"I opened the door and darkness followed me, just like in my dreams.".
I came across this while looking at new movies on Netflix some time ago and added it to my list. This was interesting and fun to watch unfold, but gets very ridiculous at the end and kind of ends in a whimper. This had potential to be better than it was. This is an above average addition to the genre that is worth your time.
"There's a door.".
Grade: C+.
